Limited period Special Offer:
Due to an over successful breeding programme, we have temporarily reduced their price.
These are an adorable new species, captive bred in the UK.
These are female Latiden Ligurra (Mangrove Jumping spiders) The first 6 pics shown are sub adult females, but the ones being sold are young adults. We have smaller juviniles available also if prefered.
The video is of one of the pairings during mating.
The Mangroves available are now all young adults.
They are from many different batches beginning 1/6/24 up until 28/8/24.
Rather than do a lengthy care sheet here, I will provide the main care details, and ask customers to PM me if they need any more information.
Mangrove Jumping spiders originate from the swamps in Malaysia, so they are considered a tropical species.
They require a small water tight, sealed seams enclosure ( Like our Vision 360D Small Enclosure, seen on our website has been designed and made by us specifically for this species and other small species of Jumping spiders)
If you use a banded enclosure, it may leak.
We have found that they thrive at temperatures between 26-27c , this seems to suit them best, although they can go up to 28c.
Mangroves also require high humidity of 70% plus, so this is the reason for water tight sealed seams enclosures.
This is easily maintained, with their substrate.
They prefer a wet boggy substrate, even with puddles, as where they originate has high levels of water.
Mangroves are a small species, females no bigger than 10 mm, and males usually not much more than 6-8 mm.
We have raised our slings from the tiniest fruit flies up to small house flies, although some will take down a small green bottle, as they are very greedy feeders.
Keeping it short, they are a completely different type of Jumper than the usual Jumper. Moving in a crab like Manor carrying their front legs outstretched.
They are not the best at Jumping, and only short distances, and preferring to walk. They absolutely love being handled, and like nothing more than Jumping hand to hand.
As adults males have more black with white markings on their face, almost like a moustache 😂 and a gold sheen.
Females tend to be more of a light brown colour, but are bigger and also have some gold.
Please remember to provide a bright white led light directly above the enclosure for their wellbeing.
Again, please message me if you need more help.
